​Indian Textiles
Indian textiles have been fascinated people in the world from the remote past.
Indian textiles have a long history. It goes back to the remote antiquity and they had advanced techniques, especially in dyeing. Indian textiles can be classified roughly into painted and printed cloths, woven cloths, tie-dyed ikat cloths and embroideries. These have various techniques in each one and there were textiles which were produced according to religions, classes and regions or for the overseas demand. Unfortunately, the most of techniques in different kinds of those textiles at that time has not been inherited until today, so it has become impossible to make such excellent cloths. However, there are still many places where textiles are produced throughout India.
Here, we shall introduce some of those places where we could visit and some textiles.
